Learning the skill of high-performance driving is a fun, challenging and exhilarating experience at the BMW Performance Driving School.

 

Located in the $12 million BMW Performance Center in Greer, South Carolina, the school features a fleet of the latest BMW models, expert BMW training instructors and both low- and high-speed driving exercises for drivers of all skill levels. Participants come away from the school as more confident, safe and enthusiastic drivers. BMW ownership is not a requirement to participate in the driving school.

 

The Performance Driving School offers several options, beginning with the One-Day Car Control School. Participants in this session will learn how to minimize the risk of an accident in adverse driving conditions. The program focuses on vehicle dynamics and how to gain better control of the car in specific situations. There is also a Two-Day Car Control School, which includes more driving time and focuses on optimizing the car’s safety systems. Participants in the two-day school also get to experience a greater breadth of the BMW model line.

 

Another option is the M School where participants get behind the wheel of BMW’s M models while learning the skills taught to professional drivers. True driving excitement comes to life in activities such as the slalom course, autocross and wet skid pad. The M School is offered in one-day, two-day and advanced sessions.

 

Parents will be happy to know that one- and two-day Teen Schools are also offered. Teens are taught how to safely navigate a vehicle through various driving conditions. Teen School teaches drivers how to avoid panic stops, as well as how to deal with loss of tire grip (using a wet skid pad). Training instructors provide immediate feedback and correction based on driver responses to real-world situations. Teens must be 15 years old or have a valid learner’s permit to participate.

 

BMW Motorcycle Rider Training is yet another option at the Performance Driving School. Perfect for both on-road and off-road enthusiasts, this training stresses safe driving techniques in addition to performance skills. For intermediate and advanced riders, a three-day guided GS Adventure Ride is offered on the back roads of the Western Carolinas and Eastern Tennessee.

 

Drivers wishing to take full advantage of the Performance Center can arrange to take delivery of their new BMWs at no extra cost through the Ultimate Delivery Experience. Customers will get the unique opportunity to test drive a car or SAV® similar to the one they’ve purchased, under the tutelage of BMW training instructors, in order to get an appreciation of the vehicle’s overall capabilities. A product specialist will go over every facet of the vehicle’s operation with new owners.
