Jaguar Lineup Featured at Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

The full 2012 Jaguar lineup was on display at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, one of the top automotive events in the world, held in March in Amelia Island, Florida.
 
Featuring 300 classic and collector cars, the 17th annual installment of the event was hosted by The Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton. A true celebration of the automobile, the Concours d’Elegance attracts auto enthusiasts throughout the world.
 
Now in its second decade, the event also highlights the work of the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance Foundation, Inc. which has donated $1.8 million to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Inc. as well as other deserving charitable organizations in the state.
Jaguar’s full 2012 lineup was made available for complimentary test drives at the event. Attendees were given the opportunity to drive the all-new 550 horsepower Jaguar XKR-S, in addition to the XK, XF and XJ.
 
Julian Thomson, Jaguar’s head of advanced design studio, was also on hand to showcase the dazzling C-X16, Jaguar’s concept vehicle for the 21st century. This futuristic vehicle features a performance-oriented hybrid drivetrain with 50:50 weight distribution. The C-X16 uses Jaguar’s traditional two-seater sports car template and takes it to a whole new level of driving excellence.
 
The show included a special tribute to racing legend Mr. “Quick” Vic Elford, one of the top rally and endurance drivers of his era. Also honored were a selection of the winning entries of Florida’s two legendary endurance classics, Sebring and Daytona, with “36 Hours of Florida.”
 
This event is just one of many that Jaguar participates in throughout the year.
