Register Now for TDWI Webinar: "When Search and BI Collide"

Wayne Eckerson, Director of TDWI, and Dr. Larry Harris, Vice President and General Manager of Progress EasyAsk will co-present to explore what happens when search and business intelligence collide. Enterprise search tools now index more than Web pages and text and image files; they can index any data volume, including structured databases, metadata, and transaction feeds. Given the pervasiveness of enterprise search and its ease-of-use, many wonder if search offers a revolutionary new approach to end-user data access. Some believe that search, with its familiar and simple keyword interface, is the next generation ad hoc query tool. Others see a role for search in helping guide users to relevant information within reports and data repositories and integrating diverse data sets on the fly without need for traditional data integration. This Webinar will examine the core technologies at play and show how search will become an integral component of a BI stack. Register now for this free Webinar.

Web Seminar: "Spread the Wealth: How to Make BI Pervasive"

Investments in business intelligence and other information management solutions can add tremendous value to an organization, but only if people use such systems to improve decision-making. Many estimates place the penetration of BI technology at 20 percent or less throughout most organizations. For BI to become pervasive, companies must take steps to ensure that operational employees enjoy the same access to insights and reports as do analysts and senior executives. In this Espresso Shot Web Seminar 24 June at 12 pm ET, we'll explore some of the ways that companies can deliver valuable insights to operational employees, and thus make BI more pervasive. Cardiff Pinnacle Improves Business Operations with EasyAsk
http://www.easyask.com/media/general/pdf/cardif_pi...

Cardif Pinnacle, a specialist underwriter of protected repayment insurance, motor shortfall, and other unique payment protector insurance products, has replaced a nine-year-old business intelligence (BI) system with Progress Software’s EasyAsk for Operational BI. Within a week, the company was drawing information through EasyAsk. In the past Cardif Pinnacle relied on programmers at its UK headquarters to create and manage its reporting environment that contained two disparate systems: operating and accounting. With EasyAsk’s ability to interpret natural language questions into ad hoc queries, reports and alerts, Cardif’s business users are now able to self-serve their frequent BI report requests.
