WHY:   The Ford Driving Skills for Life program was created in 2003 in conjunction with the Governors Highway Safety Association to provide teens with the skills and experience they need to become safer drivers. Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers in the U.S., claiming nearly 5,000 teen lives each year. During the program, teens will drive specially equipped vehicles that simulate wet or potentially dangerous driving conditions on  road courses under the supervision of professional instructors, improving their skills in four key areas: hazard recognition, vehicle handling, space management and speed management
To Register:
Registration is limited to 75 teen drivers per session. For more information or to register a teen driver, please go to www.drivingskillsforlife.com. This Web site has useful resources for teen drivers, parents and educators.
