Take one part sportscar and one part SUV. What you get is the 2010 Mazda CX-7, a crossover that offers performance, style and comfort. With new improvements from the grille all the way to the rear, the CX-7 is set to impress.
The refashioned interior and grille offer stylish enhancements to the 2010 Mazda CX-7. There is substance, too, with this five-passenger crossover. There are four trims: i SV, i Sport, s Touring and s Grand Touring.
The biggest change in 2010 is found under the hood with the addition of a fuel-efficient 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing (VVT) and multi-port fuel injection that develops 161 hp and 161 lb/ft of torque. The i trims (SV and Sport) feature this engine paired with a five-speed Sport automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Logic and manual shift mode. The s trims (Touring and Grand Touring) get more power with the 2.3-liter DOHC Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbocharged four-cylinder with VVT that generates 244 hp and 258 lb/ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed Sport automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Logic and manual shift mode. These trims offer front- or all-wheel drive.
The 2.5-liter engine gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
The 2010 Mazda CX-7’s redesigned new look still delivers that sporty appeal. The front fascia features the signature Mazda-family five-point grille. The CX-7 has a sleek and athletic appearance with its arching front fenders and steeply sloped windshield. Its rear features a roof spoiler and redesigned rear bumper. Adding to its personality are little touches including chrome door handles and dual chrome exhaust outlets (available on the s trim).
Not only is the redesigned exterior good looking, it also benefits your driving experience. Those eye-catching curves and the sloping windshield help reduce wind noise while the air management over, under and around the crossover helps keep it stable on the road. The standard rear spoiler also helps manage the airflow for a firmer stance.
Standard features include steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, an AM/FM/CD/MP3-compatible stereo with four speakers, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, an auxiliary input jack and air conditioning. For 2010, the Mazda CX-7 has plenty of options to make your ride even more enjoyable. For the Sport trim, the Convenience Package includes a power sliding-glass moonroof, automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats and Mazda’s Multi-Information Display (MID) with backup camera.
Other unique features to the CX-7’s exterior include the available xenon High-Intensity-Discharge (HID) headlights, heated outside mirrors with integrated turn-signal lights and foglights.
Inside the CX-7, the cabin features high quality materials and a new design for the gauges using blackout meters with three-dimensional dials. The optional Multi-Information Display (MID) at the top of the instrument panel gives drivers enhanced information and maintenance reminders. Another feature in sight of the driver is the available compact navigation system, placed high on the dashboard so the driver can stay focused on the road. The driver’s seat now features a three-position memory function, and the front passenger’s seat is power adjustable.
Keep the music flowing with an optional custom-tuned Bose Centerpoint® Surround Sound System that boasts an in-dash six-CD/MP3-compatible changer and nine speakers. AudioPilot® noise compensation technology will automatically adjust the music levels.
Need room? The CX-7 has a huge 58.6 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded down. For smaller items, the large front center console features an upper-level bin to keep things within easy reach. There’s plenty of additional storage space through the cabin and cargo area, as well as bottle holders in the doors.
The CX-7 is loaded with standard safety features including advanced dual front airbags, front side-impact bags, side-impact curtains, a Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). Mazda’s engineers improved the CX-7’s body rigidity for a safer ride. Its Triple-H construction deflects crash impact and provides maximum protection. Mazda’s Blind-Spot Monitoring (BSM) System gives you warning of other vehicles in your blind spot.
The 2010 Mazda CX-7 is refreshed and ready to roll into service for you with a starting MSRP of $22,300.
