The MAZDASPEED3 Is a Hot Favorite
Performance and value – there’s no better combination!

Talk about an adrenaline rush. The 2010 MAZDASPEED3 packs a combination of power and value that makes it irresistible for anyone who wants to take life by the steering wheel and go. This year’s model includes many of the previous generation’s features with some tasty updates for even more exhilaration.

Take one look at the MAZDASPEED3, and you’ll notice its restyling for 2010. Of course, it still features the smiley-face front end – a Mazda signature – but the 2010 model now features round foglights, well-defined front and rear fenders, larger exhaust tips, new side skirts, lower air dam and hood scoop. By the way, the scoop isn’t merely for looks. According to Mazda, it improves the efficiency of the intercooler by improving airflow. The MAZDASPEED3 sits on a wheelbase of 103.9-inches and measures 177.6-inches overall.

Back for 2010 is the turbocharged DOHC Direct-Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) that churns out 263 hp with 280 lb/ft of torque, paired with a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission. With this powertrain, EPA fuel estimates for the MAZDASPEED3 are impressive at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

Reviewers from autoblog.com say that, on the road, the MAZDASPEED3 “delivers one of those rare gearhead-affirming experiences each of us craves,” and Edmunds.com notes that the acceleration is “exhilarating,” going from zero-to-60 in just 5.9 seconds.

While you’re maneuvering, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) kicks in, helping to keep the MAZDASPEED3 stable. How does it work? Factoring in road conditions, speed and driver steering input, DSC regulates the throttle and brakes when it detects over- or understeering to keep the car on course.

The cabin of the 2010 MAZDASPEED3 is upscale and clearly race-inspired, from the bucket seats to the drilled aluminum foot pedals. The interior still boasts the red and black color scheme, but there are some changes for 2010. The new navigation system features a full-color LCD screen in line with the driver’s natural line of sight, and provides turn-by-turn directions plus automatic zoom, route highlighting and active road display. Looking for a coffee shop? Just use the Points of Interest (POI) to find the nearest one for your java fix – or whatever else you’re looking for.

In addition to a new navigation system at the top of the dash (with controls on the steering wheel), the vehicle gets an LED turbo-boost gauge. The seats are supportive and comfortable, bolstered to keep you firmly in place, and feature MAZDASPEED3 graphics. Storage space is bigger than the previous generation with 17 cubic feet for what you need to bring.

The 2010 MAZDASPEED3 is available as a four-door hatchback in one trim level, Sport. Standard features on the Sport trim include 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, a tilt/telescoping steering column, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shiftknob, Bluetooth connectivity and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The Tech Package boasts the richness of Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound with an in-dash six-disc CD/MP3 player and 10 speakers, as well as SIRIUS Satellite Radio, the navigation system and a keyless entry and start system.

Standard safety features on the MAZDASPEED3 include the Traction Control System (TCS), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), antilock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, advanced front airbags for driver and passenger, front-seat side airbags and full-length side-curtain airbags.

The 2010 MAZDASPEED3 has an MSRP starting at $23,945. Call us to arrange a test drive at your earliest convenience.
