Alejandro Ferreres Comella is a lawyer in the Barcelona office of Uría Menéndez. He joined Uría Menéndez in January 1997, having previously worked for the litigation firm Pou d' Avilés i Associats since 1992. He became a partner of Uría Menéndez in 2005.
He is a practicing litigator in the jurisdictions of Madrid and Barcelona, among others, and concentrates his practice on the areas of contractual liability and tort. In particular, he has taken part in the defence of car manufacturers, tobacco companies and the pharmaceutical and chemical industry in some of the most important product liability cases in Spain, including several collective claims. He is a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the International Bar Association, DRI, and the Club Español del Arbitraje.
He was regarded as a leading expert in Litigation and Arbitration by European Legal Experts 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, by Chambers Global 2006 and 2007, in the 6th edition of PLC Cross-Border Dispute Resolution Lawyers, and in the Guide to the World’s Leading Litigation Lawyers (2006) of Euromoney’s Legal Media Group. He has also been regarded as a leading product liability practitioner in Who’s Who Legal 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Alejandro has been a member of DRI since 2001. He has attended the Joint International Seminars recently held in Brussels, Barcelona (where he participated in a roundtable on “Legal issues for U.S. entities conducting business in Europe”) and London. He is the Europe Regional Editor of a Duty to Warn Compendium that will be published by DRI in the near future, and he participates actively in the DRI Europe initiative through his membership on its Steering Committee.
