Two Inspiring Stories
By Angie Hall, a TGH parent--

Hello!  My name is Angie Hall.  I am a married mother of four ranging In age from 21 to 15.  My husband is the Rev. Don Hall, who is the Pastor of the Shawmut Community Church of God.  I heard about the TGH program from a friend and neighbor.  I signed up to attend the summer session with my daughter, Latasha.  We attended the program on Mondays & Wednesdays and also every other Friday for the financial Literacy Training with Mrs. Law - Hampton.

Before I got in the program, I had a small amount of knowledge of the computer, but not enough to be very comfortable with using it alone.  Since taking the program, I am now able to use the computer with much more confidence than before.  The program allowed me to have more confidence in myself and helped me to add a marketable skill.  I have been a housewife for many years, but now I am working at a local McDonald's.  Because of the skills I developed with TGH, I am now training to be a manager. I want to thank Lisa Darling for her assistance, help and encouragement.  She has been more than just a teacher, but has become a trusted friend. She has also become a mentor to my daughter.

I would highly recommend this program to any one who is interested in improving themselves and trying to make a better life for themselves.

By Paula Wilson, a TGH@S teacher--

As a veteran Technology Goes Home at School teacher for the past three years, I had to share this wonderful experience with you. I have been a bit down lately due to an illness, getting closer to the big 50, and all the demands at work being the school's media specialist.

I got revitalized at a recent School Based Management meeting. A parent, who was in the TGH@S program said to the group of parents and staff, "My nervousness about coming into the school was that I was embarrassed about my lack of English. I went to the TGH@S program, got to know other parents and the teachers, Kate and Paula. It was great! I feel that I have a friend in Paula and Kate. They made me feel special. Now, I want to give back to other parents and let them know how special this school is and how willing they are to reach out to parents!"

As I've always known, TGH is more than computers! To say the least, I was very moved by this parent's comments. This came at a time when I really needed a boost!
