Oil Prices Fall on Crash, Russia Rebuff
OPEC to meet tomorrow without non-member cooperation
NEW YORK -- Crude oil prices tumbled after today's American Airlines jetliner crash in New York today spurred expectations for less air travel and a drop in jet-fuel demand, which already had plunged since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. According to Bloomberg News reports, market prices had already begun falling before the crash, as Russia announced it would not cooperate with a request by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to significantly reduce its crude oil production.
