AAA Seeks Fewer Fuels
Expects EPA plan to streamline RFG will lower retail prices

NEW YORK -- The American Automobile Association (AAA) indicated its support of an Environmental Protection Agency proposal announced last week to streamline anti-smog gasoline rules. The proposal, which includes reducing the number of regional gasoline blends and so-called “boutique fuels” will help reduce chances of summertime gasoline spikes, AAA officials said.

Mexico Won't Cut Oil Production
Mexican President Vicente Fox says he will not follow OPEC's lead

MEXICO CITY -- Mexican President Vicente Fox has said his country has no plans to cut oil production, and reaffirmed Mexico's independence from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez met with Fox in Mexico Friday to push Chavez's plan for a 1 million-barrel per day cut to increase prices, but Fox told reporters Sunday "there will be no production cut at this moment" by Mexico's state-owned oil company, Pemex.
