Shell CEO says negotiations paid off in deal for Equilon, Motiva
MANILA -- Royal Dutch/Shell chairman Phil Watts said the $3.8 billion the company paid last week of Texaco Inc.’s share of joint ventures Equilon Enterprises LLC and Motiva Enterprises LLC was a “fair price.” During a lengthy negotiation process completed just under a federally mandated deadline, some estimates on the price of the deal had gone as high as $7 billion.

ChevronTexaco's Matzke to Retire
Robertson to replace outgoing vice chairman after 40 years of service
SAN FRANCISCO -- ChevronTexaco Corp. announced Friday that Peter Robertson will replace Richard Matzke as vice chairman early next year.
Robertson is currently vice president of ChevronTexaco and president of ChevronTexaco Overseas Petroleum. Matzke plans to retire early next year, the company said.
