Shell Capital, Internet Works to form Shell Consumer

LONDON -- Royal Dutch/Shell Group said it will combine two new business units into a consumer division, and cut an unspecified number of jobs, the company said in a statement late yesterday

Shell Capital and Shell Internet Works will be merged into Shell Consumer, the company said. Shell will retain "the majority" of the staff from the units, the statement said, without giving more details.

"The aim is to re-focus resources and management attention on those activities that have demonstrated the best prospects of delivering sustained value growth," the statement said.
