WARRENVILLE, Ill. -- BP Plc. Has created the BP Business and BP BusinessPlus fleet card programs. The no-fee BP Business card offer basic fueling expense management for smaller fleets, the company says. The fee-based BP BusinessPlus card, for large fleets, offers customized features and a rebate program. The cards are accepted at more than 15,000 BP and Amoco locations nationwide.
BP claims to be one of the first oil companies to offer online account management to its fleet customers. From a PC, fleet managers can access and update account information, download statements, review purchase activity and contact customer service.
For smaller operations, BP Business gives fleet managers summarized corporate fuel spending in one monthly report. Monthly statements show date, time, gallons, product and location of every purchase. The company offers revolving credit terms and several billing date options, it says.
With BP BusinessPlus, based on cumulative monthly purchases, a company receives rebates on each gallon of fuel purchased, up to 4.5 cents per gallon per month, on the next monthly statement. BusinessPlus customers can choose PIN validation at the point of purchase to minimize fraudulent card usage. Fleet managers can also have drivers enter odometer reading, vehicle number or driver number at the point of purchase.
Based on fleet manager preference, information can be reported in various ways to suit security, budgeting and management needs. Each account receives an account summary report, discount report and payments/adjustments report. Other options include an invoice report, driver report, vehicle report, station activity report, exception report, tax-exempt report, expense summary report or product summary report. BusinessPlus customers can also create ad-hoc reports online by downloading current data to their PC.
The comprehensive BP BusinessPlus program costs $10 per month, waived for companies that purchase 5,000 gallons or more per month. A special introductory offer allows fleet managers to try BusinessPlus for three months with no fee.
