CHICAGO -- Midwestern independent petroleum marketers have merged their commercial wholesale fuel businesses. As part of the agreement, Bell Fuels will now run the day-to-day operations of Sweeney Oil's wholesale fuel business.
“Bell Fuels and Sweeney Oil collectively have more than 150 years of experience in serving the petroleum needs of the greater Chicagoland area,” said Bob Troch, CEO of Bell Fuels.
The new business deal expands Bell Fuels’ commercial fuel operations while allowing Sweeney Oil to focus on its core retail and lubricants business. Customers can expect a seamless transition with no disruption to current services, the companies said.
Bell Fuels is one of the largest independent petroleum marketers in the Midwest. Through its supply relationships with major refiners, the company distributes Premium D-2 diesel fuel, gasoline, aviation fuel, home-heating oil and emergency generator fuel throughout greater Chicago. In addition to commercial wholesale fuel, Bell markets the Fuelman fleet card within a three-state area.
Sweeney Oil is a regional supplier of petroleum products, merchandise and food items at retail, as well as a supplier of wholesale lubricant products. The company also owns and operates Sweeney convenience stores and gasoline stations throughout the greater Chicagoland area.
