Conoco Inc. Brings Lubricants Distributors Online with FuelQuest
Fifth-largest U.S. energy company selects FuelQuest as eCommerce solutions provider for national lubricant distributor network

HOUSTON -- Conoco, Inc., the nation’s fifth-largest energy company, has selected FuelQuest, Inc. to provide eCommerce solutions and tools for its national lubricant distributor network. Through a new program developed with FuelQuest, Conoco distributors will have access to a full slate of eCommerce products and services to improve the efficiency of their business and service to the distributor’s customers.

FuelQuest will make available a range of eCommerce tools and services to Conoco-branded distributors, from initial Web site development, through industry specific technologies, enabling Conoco branded distributor-to-customer collaboration through online ordering, content management, catalog management, carrier management, price distribution and notification and dispatch.

“The solutions and technologies that FuelQuest provides our distributors furthers our goal to provide unparalleled service and business efficiencies not only with our national network of lubricant distributors, but also to our valued customers. These solutions, along with our recently announced DistributorNet program, completes the supply chain for finished lubricant products and services – providing everyone along that supply chain convenience, efficiencies, and more importantly a easier way of doing business with Conoco,” stated Jennie Baker, Conoco’s Manager Finished Lubricants.

“The services and support we will provide to Conoco distributors will allow Conoco the ability to optimize the interaction between distributors and their customers,” added FuelQuest President and Chief Executive Officer Richard C. Cilento, Jr. Competitively, having an integrated supply chain and providing Conoco branded distributors an ability to offer more services and support to their customers only benefits the supplier, distributor and end-use buyer.

“Many of our customers are looking to place their orders with us online,” said Glenn Pumpelly, president of Sulphur, La.-based Pumpelly Oil Inc. and President of the Conoco Distributors Advisory Board. “This enables us to be on the leading edge in terms of customer service and support. It’s an outstanding sales tool for us that better positions us in the marketplace.”

The FuelQuest eCommerce program will be rolled out nationally to all Conoco branded lubricant distributors. FuelQuest will directly provide the technical support, implementation, and technology service to the national distributor network.
