PCC Network Solutions was selected to build a structured cabling infrastructure in a retrofitted, two hundred and twenty thousand square feet, two-story building, for Sempra Energy’s new Call Center in San Dimas, California. PCC Network Solutions worked with Sempra Energy to deliver the solution, which provides connectivity for voice, video, data, and paging applications.
The building is used by Sempra Energy as a Call Center serving the Los Angeles, California area. The Category 6 structured cabling solution included horizontal cabling to five hundred and forty locations, consisting of four, Cat6 cable drops per location, in order to support existing multimedia applications and in preparation for VoIP telephony and Gigabit Ethernet data applications. Backbone cabling consisted of multiple runs of twelve-strand, multimode fiber optic cable between communication closets. PCC also provided connectivity to existing cabling racks as part of the communications closet build-out.
The project was split up into eight separate and distinct phases. In addition, each work area was cordoned off by temporary (plastic) walls in order to not disrupt work being performed by the Call Center personnel. Work was also completed at night to help facilitate this business requirement. PCC was able to complete the project on time and within budget.
