Kia Dominates NADAguides’ “Most Versatile 2012 New Cars under $20K” List
Rio 5-Door SX, Forte SX and Soul + prove impossible to beat

After achieving 20 consecutive months of year-over-year sales growth, Kia Motors America recently received even more recognition. NADA Guides (NADAguides.com), the largest publisher of vehicle pricing and information, has included three Kia vehicles – the 2012 Rio 5-Door SX, Forte SX and Soul + – on its “Most Versatile 2012 New Cars under $20K” list. Kia is the only automaker to have this many vehicles make the top 10 list.

The “Most Versatile 2012 New Cars under $20K” list is a helpful tool for car shoppers looking for fuel-efficient and cost-effective vehicles that are also packed with desirable features. NADA Guides selected vehicles based on specs like cargo space, legroom, passenger capacity (specifically third row seating), all-wheel drive capabilities and standard and optional equipment. Creature comforts and one-of-a-kind amenities were also factored into the ranking.

"Having three of our vehicles named to NADAguides' 'Most Versatile 2012 New Cars Under $20K' list validates how far our brand has come in terms of quality, packaging and features development in such a short period of time," stated Orth Hedrick, director of product planning for Kia Motors America (KMA). "With the presence and eye-catching style of Rio, Forte and Soul, Kia's complete vehicle line is comprised of a wide breadth of capable offerings at very affordable price points."

The 2012 Kia Rio 5-Door subcompact caught the attention of NADAguides.com analysts thanks to its class-leading 138 hp and overall value. The Forte was praised for its robust powertrain, numerous standard convenience features and outstanding fuel economy. Lastly, the Soul + impressed with its technology upgrades and head-turning style.

"Rising energy prices and economic concerns have instilled a greater sense of frugality in today's car shopper," explained Troy Snyder, director of product development at NADAguides. "However, young professionals, families and empty nesters alike still need transportation that will support a wide variety of lifestyle activities and something beyond just going from point A to B in the most inexpensive manner possible. What has been compiled by NADAguides is our recommendation for those budget-minded car shoppers that want a little of everything from features and fuel efficiency to versatility and value."

Kia launched more new vehicles between 2009 and 2011 than any other automaker in the United States. In increasing quantity, however, Kia hasn’t lost sight of quality, and its lineup continues to garner excellent feedback from auto industry experts and everyday drivers alike.
