Biamp Systems

The revolution has arrived with the shipment of the first VoIP-2 Cards for AudiaFLEX. But even more important than the delivery of the VoIP-2 Cards are what they deliver.

The VoIP-2 Card allows AudiaFLEX to connect directly to IP-based phone systems, enabling conferencing over VoIP directly from AudiaFLEX. They eliminate the need for expensive landline installations or inefficient VoIP adapters. And they bring additional flexibility to AudiaFLEX, making distance conferencing even more affordable to your customers by leveraging the power and proficiency of their network.

To support the new VoIP-2 Card, you can download the updated AudiaFLEX firmware v 4.560
here.

PS – If you ever need any help with specing or installing a VoIP-2, don’t hesitate to call. That’s what we’re here for. Click here to download the VoIP datasheet at www.biamp.com.

Universal Remote Control

All URC RF Remotes Now Compatible with URC Lighting

Universal Remote Control Lighting by Lutron is now shipping! With native control you only need a dimmer and a remote – no other interface or black box required. Contact your Sales Rep or Distributor to order.

In a breakthrough, Universal Remote Control, Inc announces that the new switches and dimmers can be controlled by Any Complete Control RF Remote! Knowing that dealers have installed tens of thousands of URC’s controls over the years, the product development department made it a priority to ensure that all of those Complete Control series remotes can now be used to control their lighting products. The process to place lighting control into our hand held controllers is simple so the following information will explain exactly how to make any Complete Control remote into a lighting controller:

Important Programming Information

There are three methods you can use to program URC lighting:

1. Drag and Drop Learned Codes via Universal Browser

To program any of 20 URC lighting code sets in ALL URC RF remotes:
Click here to download the URC Learned Lighting zip file. In this file are twenty code sets for URC lighting. Simply drag and drop any of the codes to a device on any URC PC programmed remote (including old MX-3000s, MX-950s, MX-850s and TX-1000s).

2. Using Pre-Programmed Codes via the PC Database
Editors will be updated by October 15, 2008.
The Database and Database Navigator can generate any of the 5000 code sets. However, only the following models can download Pre-Programmed Codes from the IR Database directly:

MX-6000
MX-3000 Black
MX-980
MX-880
MX-810
MX-450
KP-900

Built After 1/31/08:
MX-3000
MX-900

Built After 6/16/08:
MX-950

3. Teaching Standalone Older Remotes, MX-350s and MX-650s Any Code Set
You can download any of the 5,000 code sets to a new compatible remote, set it to IR output, then teach the twelve codes to the older remote via IR learning. Once learned, set the Signal output to RF, ID to 0.
