FDA to Study Cigarette Ingredients
Tobacco companies must reveal formulas, research

It granted the FDA new authority to regulate the manufacture, marketing and distribution of tobacco products to protect the public health generally and to reduce tobacco use by minors. Among its many provisions, the act added section 904 to the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act establishing requirements for tobacco product ingredient submissions.
