Industry Mobilizes for Haiti
Retailers, suppliers react to disaster with fundraising campaigns, missions

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Dan Arnold, president of Rockford, Ill.-based Road Ranger, flew his private plane Friday to Haiti to bring a Rockford missionary group home after the earthquake on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Heartland Community Church directional leader Mark Bankord. A 12-person Heartland contingent of young adults have been in Haiti since January 6 providing aid to Northwest Haiti Christian Mission.

Arnold's actions are just part of the petroleum/c-store industry's reaction to the disaster. Large and medium-sized c-store and oil companies, as well as small companies and single stations have announced relief campaigns. Industry suppliers have also stepped up to the plate with help.

1st local QuikTrip sets up shop; 3 more set to open before May

TUCSON, Ariz. -- QuikTrip opened its first c-store in Tucson, Ariz., Wednesday night. DeVos has been living in Tucson the last two years preparing for QuikTrip's "invasion."

This is the first of the Tulsa, Okla.-based chain's four combination gas station and c-stores set to open in Tucson before late April. But there likely are many more to come.
