Kum & Go 21
Details 2009 growth; will use environmental features in 2010 construction
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go said that it will have opened 21 new c-stores in six states by the end of 2009. These stores have been constructed with an eye on environmental efficiency and the intent to naturally fit into the community which they serve. Each store brings with it about 15 to 20 new associate jobs.
"We have seen remarkable growth this year. Several of our new stores are in areas we did not previously have stores. We are excited to join their communities as we continue our commitment of serving our customers," said Kum & Go president and CEO Kyle J. Krause.

BP's St. Louis Move
Some area stations rebranding to Phillips 66, ZX after terminal supply cutoff
ST. LOUIS -- Some gas stations and convenience stores in the St. Louis area are no longer carrying the BP brand of gasoline, according to a report by The Southeast Missourian. They will be switching to other fuel brands. Daren Beaudo, a Houston-based spokesperson for BP, confirmed for CSP Daily News that the rebranding was necessitated because the company decided to stop providing its product from its Scott City, Kansas, terminal recently.

Chevron Could Divorce Richmond
Company contemplating refinery's exit from California community
RICHMOND, Calif. -- Chevron Corp. is considering leaving the Bay Area town of Richmond, Calif., just east of San Francisco, reported National Public Radio (NPR). The biggest producer of greenhouse gases in California, Chevron's Richmond refinery—which makes jet fuel, gasoline and diesel—opened more than a century ago, and Richmond has always been a loyal company town, said the report.
