Toot'n Totum Expanding
$10 million project includes three new stores, two raze and rebuilds

AMARILLO, Texas -- Toot'n Totum president Greg Mitchell announced a $10 million expansion project on Tuesday that includes adding three new stores and completely replacing two existing ones. New designs will give the stores two entrances, more parking, different displays, graphics and reimagined canopies over at least 16 fueling positions per store.

7-Eleven's Text Test
Retailer experimenting with mobile marketing in San Diego with free drink offer

SAN DIEGO -- 7-Eleven Inc. has rolled out a mobile marketing campaign in San Diego. The test runs through Dec. 31, 2009, with approximately 200 7-Eleven stores participating. During this time, local residents can send an SMS (Short Message Service) text with the word "fast" (in Spanish, "rapido") to 72579. In response, they will receive a message informing them which of 7-Eleven's beverages they have won.

Rutter's Adding DVD Kiosks
Chain deploying NCR's Blockbuster Express movie rental units in 19 locations

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores is placing Blockbuster Express DVD rental kiosks at 19 of its stores, the retailer said. The blue kiosks arrived at the initial location this week, with plans to have them at all stores in the next few months. The kiosks are located outside on the stores' front docks.
