Buc-ee's Brings 'Em In
"Business built purely on porcelain" continues to be flush with fans
LAKE JACKSON, Texas -- ABC World News with Charles Gibson has discovered Buc-ee's Ltd. The news program featured the chain of 30 convenience stores in Texas in a segment this week focusing on what made the locations famous—their bathrooms. Buc-ee's touts the cleanliness of its facilities from interstate billboards with slogans such as "Only 262 Miles to Buc-ee's. You Can Hold It." and "Restrooms So Clean We Leave Mints in the Urinals."
ABC News correspondent Ryan Owens spoke with Buc-ee's owner "Beaver" Alpin (thus, the name Buc-ee's and the rodent mascot). Alpin, he said, "follows a simple business model—it's all about the bathrooms."
