QuikTrip Shines on Job Security
One of nine U.S. companies that have never had layoffs
TULSA, Okla. -- Nine U.S. companies on the Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list for 2009 are noted as the companies with the best job security, according to a report by KJRH-TV. These nine companies have never had layoffs, added Huliq News.
Tulsa, Okla.-based convenience retailer QuikTrip came in at No. 4 on the list.

Susser readies investors for tough fourth quarter as unemployment spikes

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Even as Susser Holdings Corp. reported healthy same-store sales increases and boosts in fuel volumes in its third-quarter results yesterday, CEO Sam Susser set the stage for what could be a challenging fourth quarter as more evidence of the U.S. recession crops up in its core markets in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
"Although third-quarter results were strong, we did experience softening in sales trends as we progressed through the quarter," Susser said on a conference call with investors. "We are clearly seeing a considerably more challenging economic environment emerging the past three or four months, and it doesn't seem to have abated."

7-Eleven Debuts Own Wines
Seven & i holds global launch of two Yosemite Road varietals
DALLAS -- In its first foray into global merchandising, 7-Eleven Inc. in the United States and Seven-Eleven Japan (SEJ) are jointly introducing two proprietary wines—a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon—under the Yosemite Road label. These are California wines produced by The Wine Group exclusively for 7-Eleven stores and its parent company, Seven & i Holdings Co. Ltd. of Tokyo.
Available in the companies' collective 15,000 convenience, department and grocery stores, the introduction of the two California wines is the culmination of a collaborative, global merchandising effort for the world's largest convenience retailer.
