After selling Zooms chain, Allen plans a little downtime before launching new venture

HAMPTON, Va. -- After 28 years in the convenience-store industry, David Allen is putting himself out to pasture, in a manner of speaking. Having sold his 14 Zooms stores to 7-Eleven Inc., Allen plans to take some time to enjoy his farm and five horses before launching into some new venture.
"I've got five horses and a 150-acre farm on the water," the company owner and president told CSP Daily News. "I'll be able to farm it more and take better care of the horses. I might actually ride them once in a while."

7-Eleven TV
Retailer to launch one of the nation's largest in-store digital networks
LOS ANGELES -- 7-Eleven Inc. has contracted with Digital Display Networks Inc. (DDN) to create one of the nation's largest out-of-home digital networks in more than 6,200 7-Eleven stores throughout the United States and Canada. Upon its full national deployment, 7-Eleven TV is expected to reach an estimated 190 million monthly viewers. Features of the in-store network will include around-the-clock programming with national and local entertainment news and weather, as well as exclusive content fit for convenience shoppers.

Clark, Crown Create Credit Card
Roll out new MasterCard with First National Bank of Omaha
NAPERVILLE, Ill., BALTIMORE & OMAHA, Neb. -- Clark Brands LLC, Crown Central LLC and First National Credit Card Center (FNCCC), a division of First National Bank of Omaha, have introduced the Clark Platinum Edition MasterCard card. The new credit card will be issued by First National Bank of Omaha and is designed to increase consumer loyalty and add value to Clark's and Crown's brand programs. Clark, with stores primarily in the Midwest and Central states, and Crown, with stores in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast states, have partnered to broaden the scope and reach of the new card by co-branding the card with both the Clark and Crown logos.
