It Happened in Hampton Roads
7-Eleven buys 13-location Zooms c-store chain on Peninsula in Va.
HAMPTON, Va. -- Zooms Inc., a convenience store operator with 13 locations on the Peninsula in Virginia, has sold the chain to 7-Eleven Inc., according to a report by The Virginian-Pilot. 7-Eleven bought all of the Zooms locations as of Friday, David Erbe, 7-Eleven's market manager on the Peninsula, told the newspaper.
Zooms executives at the company's headquarters in Hampton, Va., confirmed the sale of the c-stores for the newspaper, but did not provide further details. All Zooms stores have closed, the report added. Most of them will remain shut for two to three weeks for remodeling before they reopen as 7-Eleven stores.

7-Eleven holds first of what it says will be frequent private-label supplier summits
DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. held its first-ever Private-Label Summit in Dallas on October 28-29. The two-day event provided the company's private-label suppliers the opportunity to meet with its category managers and product directors and attend a formal Private-Label Forum. The purpose of the collaborative program was to educate 7-Eleven supply partners about the company's business strategy and private-label growth plans.
