7-Eleven's 'Willful Deception'?
MasterCard calls retailer's credit-card petition "surprising," "highly questionable"

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- As 7-Eleven prepared to take its credit-card-fee offensive to Washington, D.C., today, MasterCard Worldwide took its case to the media yesterday in a conference call partially titled "Consumers Misled by 7-Eleven Petition."

"What 7-Eleven did was an attempt to make this a consumer issue," said Shawn Miles, global head of public policy for MasterCard Worldwide. "Those consumers were ill-advised. Our research shows regulation of interchange will harm consumers."

Retailer rebrands another location with gasoline to Tedeschi Fuel

ROCKLAND, Mass. -- Food, convenience and gasoline retailer Tedeschi Food Shops Inc. has announced that it has reopened one of its stores in Brockton, Mass., under the Tedeschi Fuel brand. The Brockton location opening came on the heels of a very successful rebranding effort at the West Bridgewater location, which has been bearing the Tedeschi Fuel brand for several months.

Jet Pep Grows in West Alabama
Company planning additional retail expansion in the region

HOLLY POND, Ala. -- Jet Pep Inc., a petroleum company with 104 gas stations across the state of Alabama, has increased its presence in West Alabama, reported The Tuscaloosa News. The privately owned company acquired two stations in metro Tuscaloosa and reopened them under its name within the past two months, said the report.
