Wanna smoke in public? Go to Jersey

ALBANY, N.Y. – State leaders passed the most restrictive smoking regulations in the nation Wednesday, making it illegal to light up in virtually every business in New York state, including all bars and restaurants.

Immediately after it was passed by the Legislature, Gov. George E. Pataki put his pen to the paper and the measure will be law in 120 days. State law will supersede any less stringent local laws, according to The Associated Press.

No. 5 Exporter to be Back Online
Venezuela expects to restart gasoline exports by the end of March

CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuela will restore its strike-hit gasoline exports at the end of March, Minister of Energy and Mines Rafael Ramirez told reporters on Wednesday.

As reported previously in CSP Daily News, The world's No. 5 oil exporter had not shipped gasoline abroad since December when opponents of leftist President Hugo Chavez began a two-month strike that disrupted petroleum output and exports.

McDonald's looks to sell Chipotle, Boston Market and Donatos chains

OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald's Corp. is seeking buyers for its Chipotle Mexican Grill, Boston Market and Donatos Pizzeria chains, in a sign the company's new chief is focusing on fixing its burger business, the Chicago Tribune reported yesterday.

Sources close to McDonald's told the Chicago Tribune that the Oak Brook, Ill.-based company is talking with private equity firms about buying a controlling stake in the Partner Brands, the division which includes Chipotle, Boston Market and Donatos.
