Originally published by Crux Publishing Ltd. in 2000, the book describes a long but successful campaign to uncover the secrets of lost Vilcabamba, the last refuge of the Incas.

An architect in Cortez, Colorado, Vince has devoted more than 20 field seasons to exploring, mapping, and documenting numerous archaeological sites in remote areas of the eastern Sierras of Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia. He is the author of an ongoing series of books, monographs, and studies in Andean archaeology.
