A $100,000 Challenge for Challenging Times
New 2009 Challenge Pledge Will Expand Chairman's Council
An anonymous donor has pledged up to $100,000 to match qualifying Chairman's Council contributions in 2009. Ricky Lightfoot, Crow Canyon president and CEO, said, "I think this generous challenge pledge will help us expand the Chairman's Council and increase our base of philanthropic support, even in these financially difficult times. In 2008, we were successful in completing a similar $100,000 challenge issued by trustee Sue Anschutz-Rodgers, and we hope that we can sustain the momentum and continue to grow the Chairman's Council this year. We depend on the support of our Chairman's Council to maintain the quality and excellence of our research, education, and collaboration with American Indians. The anonymous donor who issued the $100,000 challenge for 2009 understands that a generous challenge like this can truly inspire others to give generously as well."
Anyone who was not a Chairman's Council member in 2008 and contributes $1,000 or more in 2009 will qualify for a $1,000 match, as will anyone who was a Chairman's Council member in 2008 and increases the size of his or her gift to a higher circle level in 2009. And, contributors who qualified for matching gifts in 2008 in response to the 25th anniversary $100,000 challenge can qualify for additional $500 matches in 2009 by maintaining their same Chairman's Council gift levels in 2009.
The 2009 Chairman's Council challenge is already off to a great start.
