You're unlikely to mistake the 2009 Chrysler 300 for another vehicle anytime soon. Bold and aggressive styling projects power and independence for drivers who reject cookie-cutter styling trends and scoff at the Euro-posers in their overpriced, not-so-reliable rides.
The 2009 Chrysler 300 makes a statement. It projects a confidence in American style and automotive technology while it promises—make that guarantees—a satisfying and reliable relationship with Chrysler’s Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. You won’t get that with an import!
The 300 is available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. An optional long wheelbase rear-wheel drive model is available that allows for a rear seat area much larger than the standard car. A series of engines, from an efficient V6 to a substantial SRT8A will satisfy any driving style. Antilock brakes, traction control and stability control are standard on the Touring and Limited trims.
For the last model year, Chrysler refreshed 300 inside and out, and added some additional features like SIRIUS Backseat TV™ and Chrysler's 20GB MyGIG® and a navigation system. This year, the interior features a new instrument panel, center console and iPod interface, while the exterior grille, moldings and front and rear fascia have been restyled.
Beyond 17-inch wheels and solar-control glass, Chrysler's newest 300 LX features a 2.7-liter dual-overhead cam V6 capable of 178 hp and 190 lb/ft of torque through a four-speed automatic transmission.
Chrysler's 300 Touring trim features a 3.5-liter single-overhead cam V6 capable of 250 hp and 250 lb/ft of torque through a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick. The Touring and Touring AWD model also feature leather seats, 17-inch wheels and integrated foglamps.
The 300 Limited and Limited AWD model incorporates 18-inch wheels, an upgraded suspension, heated power seats and automatic climate control.
The 300C features a 5.7-liter overhead-valve HEMI V8 delivering 340 hp and a thumping 390 lb/ft of torque, as well as a leather-trimmed shiftknob and steering wheel, remote vehicle starter and rain-sensing windshield wipers. An available SRT Design Group option on the 300C incorporates 20-inch wheels and performance adjustments that generate an additional 10 hp.
The high performance, limited edition SRT8 includes 20-inch wheels and a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 capable of 425 hp.
The 2009 Chrysler 300 uses the rear-wheel drive layout, the preferred drivetrain for large cars with sporting intentions. The 300's traction and stability systems are highlighted by available all-wheel drive, and ensure exceptional performance in any season. It’s no wonder the Chrysler 300 is now the focus of creative tuner-car stylists. Check out the Chrysler website to see some of the eye-popping customs now on the road.
