The 2012 Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover that offers innovation, flexibility, fuel-efficiency and performance in an easy-to-love, fun-to-drive package.
The 2012 Nissan Rogue comes in four trim levels: Rogue S ($21,840), Rogue S with Special Edition Package, Rogue SV and Rogue SV with SL Package. Each offers standard front-wheel drive and available Intuitive All-Wheel Drive.
Power and Performance
Every Nissan Rogue comes standard with a 2.5-liter dual overhead cam 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine that is rated at 170 hp and 175 lb/ft of torque. The inline-four is paired with arguably the best continuously variable transmission (CVT) on the market. The Nissan Xtronic CVT® uses Adaptive Shift Control and a high-speed central processing unit to provide the optimal shift pattern according to the driving situation and driver’s demands, using input from driver operation, vehicle speed, road gradient, turning condition and acceleration to adjust shifting patterns accordingly. Fuel economy is EPA-estimated at up to 23 mpg city and 28 mpg highway for front-wheel drive models.
The Nissan Rogue also stands out for its interior space. It features a 105.9-inch wheelbase and 183.3-inch overall length – among the longest in its class. Large front doors make entry and exit easier, and there’s ample rear seat legroom. Cargo space is also plentiful at 58 cubic feet. The Rogue cabin is enhanced by an oversized glove compartment, a large center console and underfloor storage that includes a washable, removable tray that fits below the cargo area floor to hold wet or dirty gear and tools. The Rogue is a Swiss army knife of utility with places for all your cups, pens, coins and glasses. With the optional fold-down front passenger’s seat, standard on the SV trim level, there is more than 8.5 feet of front-to-back cargo space. A 60/40-split rear seat also adds to the functionality.

Safety and Security
Standard safety features for the Nissan Rogue include the Nissan advanced airbag system with dual-stage supplemental front airbags and seatbelt and occupant classification sensors, roof-mounted, curtain side-impact supplemental airbags with rollover sensors for front- and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection and front-seat active head restraints. Additional occupant protection components include an energy-absorbing steering column, steel side-door guard beams and Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and hood-buckling creases to direct the energy of a collision away from the passenger cabin.
