Community Honda to Host Rotary Blood Drive
Community Honda, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Baytown and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, will host a Blood Drive on March 23, 2012.

The drive, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Baytown, will run from Monday, March 20th to Friday, March 23rd. There are two ways to donate:

The Mobile Blood Center will be at Community Honda from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, March 23.  If you wish to donate, or have friends and family who wish to donate, please have them come by Community Honda during this time.

If you can’t donate that day, you can donate by going to the Baytown Neighborhood Donor Center anytime from March 19 to 23 and donate there.  Just mention the Rotary Club so proper credit for the donation can be applied.  The Donor Center is located at 5010 Garth Road (Conn’s strip center next to 5 Guys Hamburgers).

Gary’s Performance Corner
Welcome back to my Performance Corner! This month we are truly going to be talking about when the “Rubber meets the Road”.

On the track, whether it’s Drag Racing, Indy Car Racing, or everyone’s favorite NASCAR the stability of a vehicle’s tire pressure can easily mean a win or a loss, not to mention that overall safe handling of the vehicle could be compromised. This is why the Pro’s choose nitrogen for their tires. Nitrogen provides a more consistent tire pressure for better handling, enhanced safety, and even better, longer tire life! Now we’re talking!

New Meal Ideas Using Leftovers
Great suggestions for recycling last night's meal

Looking for a creative idea for dinner? Perhaps your refrigerator is stuffed with restaurant takeout boxes or Tupperware filled with leftovers from your own cooking. Instead of just reheating and listening to the groans of your family as they face the same meal again, surprise them with a brand new twist. If you’re creative enough, they may not even realize they're eating leftovers. Combine these ideas with your own imagination and see what you can come up with.

Car Care: When it’s Your 35,000-Mile Service
Simple tips can help save your investment.

Photo: When it’s Your 35,000-Mile Service
At less than 35,000 miles, most new cars are still under warranty, so anything that breaks prematurely, such as a leaking brake caliper or a burned out wiper motor, should be fixed at no cost. However, warranties don’t generally cover wear and tear items like brake pads and wiper blades, so it’s important to check those regularly and replace as needed for proper function and safety. Regular maintenance is important to protect your investment and prevent problems later, after that new-car warranty expires.

Is Your Vehicle as Ready as You Are?
With spring break just around the corner, it’s a good time to start thinking about making sure your vehicle is in tip top shape so that you’re travel plans aren’t disrupted.

Here are a few tips to keep your vacation from “going south”:
·         Remove clutter from your car. Vacuum the carpeting; Windex the windows; wipe the headlights with a soft, damp rag. Wash and wax your vehicle to remove winter salt and grime and protect the finish.
·         Cooling system (radiator): flush and refill according to the service manual’s instructions. The level, condition and concentration of the coolant should be checked periodically. Important — first let the engine cool down before removing the radiator cap.

Seasonal Depression: Fighting the Winter Blues
Getting past the winter months with sunlight, exercise and relaxation

Some people look forward to the fall and winter months when leaves turn brilliant colors, the air gets cooler and cozy sweaters come out of storage. But for others this change of season can bring the winter blues, especially after the holidays when gray skies and dreary weather seem to drag on forever. Many people feel sluggish or grumpy in the winter — after all, it's freezing out there. Fortunately it doesn't take much to fight seasonal blues and blahs. A few minor lifestyle adjustments may be just what the doctor ordered.
