Community Auto Group will once again proudly sponsor the Bayou Bowl in June. The Bayou Bowl Football Game is played between Houston area and Louisiana high school senior all-stars. The brain child of former Robert E. Lee High School football coach Dick Olin, the Bayou Bowl has become a nationally recognized All-Star game. This year’s game will once again be telecast live by FoxSports Network.
The festivities begin on Friday, June 1 with the Bayou Bowl Celebrity Golf Tournament at Eagle Pointe Golf and Recreation Center in Mont Belvieu. Celebrities from previous years include college football coaches, NFL Hall of Fame members, former and current NFL players, as well as other sports and media people from the area.
This year’s celebrity golfers include Alois Blackwell, Jim Bierne, Coach Ed Biles, Booker T, Dave Elmendorf, John McLaughlin, Charlie Frazier, Paul Gibson, Jr., Robert Hubble, Lamar Lathon, Dan Pastorini, Vernon Perry, Alvin Reed, Howard Sampson, Don Talbert, and Termite Watkins. Put together by the Bayou Bowl Golf Committee through the Baytown Chamber of Commerce, numerous local public, business and private volunteers who are dedicated to helping educate children by way of scholarship, programming and youth enrichment, put together this awesome committee. The committee works hard to make a profitable golf tournament happen, which goes toward the success of the Bayou Bowl All-Star Game as well
