2013 Nissan Altima Preview

Packing show-stopping innovations like superior gas mileage, an improved transmission and a new look, the 2013 Nissan Altima looks set to be a favorite for Boston, MA drivers.

The new Altima was at the New York Auto Show, and we have a recap of all the latest news about Nissan’s midsize sedan to come out of the Big Apple. Read on to find out what the 2013 Altima has to offer. And if you’re looking to be first in line for a new Altima, drop by Colonial Nissan of Medford to inquire about it today.

New Year, New Improvements

The new Altima will arrive with plenty of changes in tow, and Boston drivers will appreciate all of them. Here are a few of the standout additions:

  •  38 MPG highway fuel economy – the best gas mileage for any 4-cylinder midsize sedan

  • NissanConnect – New infotainment system & smartphone integration technology for Pandora radio, hands-free texting, real-time Google POI search & more
  •  Safety Shield Technologies – Blind-spot warning, lane departure warning & moving object detection systems
And that’s just for starters. The look of the Altima is also being overhauled for 2013. The wheelbase remains the same as the previous generation, but it now has a wider front and rear track, deeper fenders, plus a new grille that transitions seamlessly into a new bumper and projector-style headlights.

Engine Choices

Boston drivers will be able to choose from 2 different engines for the new Altima: a 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder engine and a 3.5L DOHC V6. But no matter which engine you choose, the body of the new Altima is 80 pounds lighter than the outgoing model which is part of the reason why it’s able to achieve such solid mileage.

When the 2013 Altima arrives at Boston, MA Nissan dealers in the summer, drop by Colonial Nissan of Medford to take one for a test drive. And until then, you can visit any time to inquire about new models.
