The award-winning Cherokee continues to improve

The Jeep Cherokee is a rugged yet comfortable SUV that achieves the perfect mixture of off-road prowess and family-friendly features.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee (MSRP $23,595) is available in five models: Sport, Latitude, Limited, Overland and the rugged Trailhawk®. Jeep also offers a range of Limited Edition models, such as the Altitude and High Altitude. For 2017, the Trailhawk adds comes standard with a power liftgate, remote start, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and Keyless Enter 'n Go. The majority of the Cherokee models have standard High-Intensity Discharge headlights, and drivers can opt for the two available Overland Packages.

The Cherokee is powered by your choice of  two engines: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 3.2-liter V6. The four-cylinder makes 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque with fuel estimates of up to 30 mpg on the highway, and nearly 475 miles of driving range. The V6 is good for 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque and a best-in-class towing capacity of 4,500 pounds. Even with its added power, the V6 can still manage up to 29 mpg on the highway. Both engines are paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and come with standard Trailer Sway Damping.

When it comes to traction and control, the Cherokee leads its segment with three available four-wheel-drive systems. The Jeep Active Drive I and Active Drive II systems are equipped to handle everyday conditions such as rain and snow, but for even more control, you can also opt for the Jeep Active Drive Lock system that helps the Trailhawk models earn the Trail Rated® badge. The Trailhawk also benefits from Selec-Speed Control/Hill-Ascent Control, tow hooks and an off-road suspension. All Cherokee models come with Selec-Terrain, which offers up to five customized modes so you can pick the perfect setting for the conditions.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee is offered in 10 exterior colors, including Recon Green Clearcoat and Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearlcoat. The Cherokee is easily recognizable with its seven-slotted grille and trapezoidal wheel arches (both signature styling cues). Depending on trim, the Cherokee offers roof rails, dual chrome exhaust tips, heated exterior mirrors, a wiper de-icer and wheels up to 18 inches in diameter.

Inside, the Cherokee is flexible and versatile, with all models offering an abundance of standard features. The 60/40 split-folding rear seat helps unlock nearly 60 cubic feet of space, and the Cherokee offers various seating configurations so you can meet all of life’s demands. The Cherokee is also available with luxurious features like Zebrano high-gloss wood trim, the Uconnect® 8.4 infotainment system, a navigation system, Nappa leather upholstery and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee offers more than 70 available safety and security features.  The Technology Group package includes Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation, LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Advanced Brake Assist and even Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist.
