The Wrangler is the most iconic vehicle in the Jeep® family. The Wrangler Unlimited, on sale here at Colonial Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Hudson in Hudson, Massachusetts, is more of a good thing, with four doors, seating for up to five, a removable top and doors, and the kind of versatility that can conquer the back-country all day and escort you in style to a night out that evening.
There are 10 Wrangler Unlimited variants (MSRP starting at $26,795) from which to choose, each offering its own set of amenities. All feature a powerful and efficient 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with 285 horsepower and 260 lb/ft of torque, paired with either a five-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. Fuel economy is EPA-estimated at 21 mpg highway, giving the Wrangler Unlimited a range of about 472 miles on a single tank of gas.
You can carry lots of stuff in your Wrangler Unlimited. There’s 31.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, and a big 70.6 cubic feet behind the first-row seat. A maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds lets you carry even more on your journeys, and standard Trailer Sway Damping helps keep the vehicle and trailer under your control.
The 2015 Wrangler Unlimited cabin is comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with reduced interior noise, vibration and harshness. Amenities like heated seats, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, premium audio systems and the latest in connectivity are all available or standard, depending on trim. Classic Jeep functionality, like a washable floor with drain plugs, is, of course, included.
The wide variety of Wrangler Unlimited trims makes it easy for you to get exactly the Jeep you want. The entry Sport and Sport S are well-equipped and plenty off-road capable. Front and rear stabilizer bars, fuel tank and transfer case skid plates, and tow hooks front and rear are found on these and every Wrangler Unlimited except for the Rubicon and Rubicon Hard Rock. Those higher-end trims are the most off-road capable in the lineup and feature an electronic front sway bar disconnect.
Command-Trac® shift-on-the-fly part-time 4WD is also featured on every Wrangler Unlimited except for the most off-road focused Rubicon and Rubicon Hard Rock versions. Those sport 4:1 Rock-Trac® part-time 4WD which includes front and rear lockers and a 4:1 gear ratio that allows the Wrangler to crawl at ultra-low speeds.
An eight-speaker audio system with an improved sound bar is standard, and there’s an available nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system which includes amplifier and subwoofer. That subwoofer now sits under the cargo floor to enhance cargo capacity.
A new Torx Tool Kit – with T-30, T-35, T-40 and T-50 torx heads, a ratchet and a storage pouch – is also now standard. This makes removing the doors, roof and front bumper end caps on select trims easier and keeps you from having to carry tools from home.
Between the entry Sport and the top-of-the-line Rubicon Hard Rock, there are Wrangler Unlimited versions to appeal to every off-road enthusiast and lifestyle. There’s the Willy’s Wheeler, which includes a Dana 44 rear axle, Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential, rock rails, and a Jeep Trail Rated® Kit with a D-Ring, tow strap and gloves in a Jeep-branded bag. Exterior design details include “Willy’s” hood decals and “4-Wheel Drive” rear tailgate decal.
The Freedom Edition is a special tribute to the U.S. military with a military-themed exterior. There are “Oscar Mike” fender badges and decals on the hood and rear quarter panels with Mineral Gray wheels, grille and front and rear bumper inserts. The “Oscar Mike” logo is also embroidered onto the seat backs.
Safety and security features are abundant. They include standard electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, speed control, traction control, four-wheel antilock disc brakes and a sport bar with full padding.
The 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the most recognized vehicle in the world. It’s a great value, too. It won Kelley Blue Book’s 2015 “Best Resale Value” and 2015 “5-Year Cost to Own” awards, and it’s the only fully-capable 4x4 convertible on the planet.
