Let Us Evaluate Your Machine Vision Application

The Vision Show East
The Vision Show East Visitors to the Cognex booth at the Vision Show East held last month, saw the awesome power of Cognex vision hardware and software demonstrated in many applications. The theme of the show was "Your Vision Solutions are Here", and that’s just what Cognex delivered! Here are some examples...
High-speed Industrial-grade Vision Sensors
In-Sight 5000 Series Vision Sensors The Cognex® In-Sight ® 5400 vision sensor, the toughest and fastest available, was used to detect presence/absence of tamper seals and read the date and lot codes on fast-moving bottles. In addition to speed and accuracy, industrial M12 connectors provide rugged, sealed connections ... contributing to an IP67 (NEMA 6) rating. This demo also utilized an In-Sight 1000C vision sensor to perform color checks on the bottles.
Need to Read Difficult 2D Codes?
No Problem for IDMax

Cognex IDMax™, the most robust and reliable Data Matrix code reading tool available to industry, was shown running on an In-Sight 5400 reading 2D codes on an automotive piston. Accurately reading this 2D code demonstrated the ability of IDMax to tolerate variations in contrast, surface texture, and part presentation. As we say, "If you can print it, IDMax can read it!" IDMax is available with Cognex fixed-mount vision sensors and handheld readers, and VisionPro PC-based solutions.
Meeting the Challenges of Skewed,
Warped, and Distorted Objects

Also shown at the Cognex booth was
PatFlex™, a revolutionary patent-pending software tool. PatFlex enables a vision system to locate an object, feature, or pattern whose perspective has changed or whose surface is curved, warped, wrinkled or stretched. This vision tool "understands" how a part’s geometric features change, and adjusts the image to its original form, enabling the full range of Cognex vision tools to be applied.

The Cognex Flex OCV software tool utilizes the power of PatFlex to provide accurate and reliable verification of characters inkjet-printed on skewed and warped surfaces. At the show, this was demonstrated by verifying codes printed on baby powder containers. Flex OCV provides built-in support for a wide range of inkjet, laser, and PC fonts.
