The rally legend gains upgraded performance, more aggressive styling and enhanced safety

The 2018 Subaru WRX is a five-passenger, all-wheel-drive sports sedan with a rich racing heritage. For the new model year, it’s been extensively updated with a host of performance, styling, comfort and safety upgrades, keeping it at the top of its game.

The new Subaru WRX features a more aggressive front fascia with a pronounced grille, larger lower grille openings for enhanced cooling, new roof rack mounting brackets, new 18-inch alloy wheels with bold double-spoke design and upgraded interior materials for a quieter cabin at freeway speeds.

WRX Limited models feature upgraded LED Steering Responsive Headlights for improved nighttime visibility while cornering. A new available Performance Package on the 2018 WRX includes eight-way power Recaro® sport seats, red-painted brake calipers and high performance brake pads, and to save weight, eliminates the power moonroof.

Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER flat-four cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, the 2018 Subaru WRX sends 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque to the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system through either a six-speed manual transmission or an available Sport Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with manual shift mode. The six-speed manual transmission gains a new synchro design for reduced shifting friction as well as smoother clutch engagement.

For greater cornering agility, the 2018 Subaru WRX also features new front and rear suspension tuning, striking an ideal balance between everyday drivability and inspired handling performance. And to improve steering precision, the revised electric power steering system delivers a smoother and more natural feel as well as reduced weight thanks to the integration of the steering motor and electronic control unit.

Everyday drivability is better than ever in the 2018 Subaru WRX thanks to upgraded interior materials, thicker door glass, improved door sealing and a foam-filled windshield header beam. Other new features include redesigned interior door panels, a rear seat armrest with cup holders, heated exterior mirrors and a high-definition 5.9-inch multi-function display. WRX Premium models feature the SUBARU STARLINK™ 7.0-inch multimedia display.

The 2018 Subaru WRX also benefits from extensive safety enhancements, including a redesigned front structure for improved frontal collision performance. Models equipped with the award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology system feature innovations like Vehicle Hold to prevent rollback on hills from a stop, and even hold the vehicle in place when pointed downhill at a stop. The EyeSight Assist Monitor is also new, using LED indicators to show alerts on the windshield so the driver can maintain eye contact with the road.

The 2018 Subaru WRX is slated to arrive soon, so contact us today to keep updated and be among the first to drive home in the newest iteration of this award-winning, rally-inspired legend.
