A unique utility vehicle

There are plenty of compact hatchbacks out there and even more compact crossovers, but the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek is a truly unique offering combining the best of both segments in one incredibly fun and rugged package.

The Subaru Crosstrek has the fuel economy of a small hatchback with the versatility of a CUV, along with a more rugged appearance with unique front fascia, black cladding around the wheel openings and, of course, a higher ride height. The Crosstrek is ready for off-road driving with 8.7 inches of ground clearance, 18 degrees of approach angle and 27.7 degrees of departure angle. The Crosstrek also offers CUV-like interior space with lots of headroom and legroom for occupants and cargo capacity that varies from 22.3 cubic feet with the rear seats up to 51.9 cubic feet with the seats folded flat.

The big news for the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek is the addition of the new 2.0i Premium Special Edition that is positioned between the Premium and Limited trim level. Available only in Pure Red or Crystal Black Silica exterior colors, this package comes with special styling cues inside and out. Visually, this model stands out with its black exterior badging, body-color rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is equally style-driven with exclusive red stitching found on the cloth seating, leather steering wheel and leather shifter boot. There is also red trim on the climate control dials and red lighting for the footwells and console storage tray.

The Premium Special Edition also comes with standard with SiriusXM® All Access Radio and the Subaru STARLINK™ Multimedia system with a 6.2-inch touch screen display. This cabin technology is also available on other Crosstrek models as is the innovative EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, which helps the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek achieve a 2017 Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

While safety and style are key attributes for the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, this car is meant to be a fun, family-style off-roader. Under the hood, the Crosstrek is powered by a 2.0-liter SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder that puts out 148 hp and 145 lb/ft of torque, and this engine can be mated to either a Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission or the standard five-speed manual gearbox with Incline Start Assist. With the CVT, the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek gets EPA-rated fuel economy estimates of 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. All Crosstrek models come with standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

On top of everything else, the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek is an affordable car with prices starting at just $21,695 for the Crosstrek 2.0i, making it one of the most affordable compact crossovers on the market. The well-equipped 2.0i Premium starts at $22,495, the luxurious 2.0i Limited is priced at $25,195 and the all-new 2.0i Premium Special Edition is priced at $25,795.

With cars like the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, Subaru proves that you can still buy a car that is safe, affordable, fun and ready to take your family almost anywhere you need to go.
