IT in the News

“When we want to hire lots of software engineers, there is a shortage in North America—a pretty significant shortage,” Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates said in an interview with The Associated Press.

"Human resource managers are seeking out and hiring women IT managers by the dozens and they reference the kinds of skills generally associated with women as being a priority for business,” said Warren Kuehner, director of the Information Technology Studies Program at the Women's College of the University of Denver.

Corporations, associations, and education and training providers in the IT industry announced that they have formed the Information Technology Certification Council (ITCC) to position professional certifications for major new growth, helping to ensure a qualified workforce to support the world’s technology needs. The ITCC will be the “go-to” resource for employers, government officials, academia, workforce development, and individuals seeking information about the many advantages and benefits of IT certification.
