Captivating Clubs in Northern California
Become a member of a local group and enjoy new friends and fun events.

There is so much to see and do in Northern California – why not join one of the local clubs and explore with other people who share your interests? From photography and music to history and the great outdoors, there is a club for every hobby.

If you enjoy photography, the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C) has a club just for you. Dedicated to increasing awareness of the art of photography, the N4C offers members fun learning experiences, fieldtrips, seminars and the opportunity to meet fellow photographers. Check out the Millbrae Camera Club (www.millbraecameraclub.org), or join some new friends at the Palo Alto Camera Club (www.pacamera.com) on a fieldtrip to the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve on May 6, 2012. Find the best club that suits your skills and location at www.n4c.org.

Get your fill of toe-tapping jazz music with the New Orleans Jazz Club of Northern California (NOJCNC). Founded in 1965, the NOJCNC features live Dixieland Jazz performances around the San Francisco area the third Sunday of every month. In addition to showcasing local bands, club sessions have also featured more than 20 international bands from 14 countries. Mark your calendar for May 20, 2012 when the San Francisco Feetwarmers will perform. Find information about membership and upcoming performances at www.nojcnc.org.

The folks at Northern California Outdoor Adventures have plenty of exciting ways for you to explore California’s natural beauty. From hiking, biking and mountain climbing to camping, canoeing and more, the opportunities are endless. With more than 800 members in the club and lots of exciting events on the calendar, you’ll have no excuse to stay inside. Membership is open to anyone who loves the outdoors. Learn more at www.norcaladventurers.com.

If you’re passionate about history, then consider joining the Berkeley Historical Society, a non-profit group dedicated to preserving and sharing Berkeley’s history. The society maintains the Berkeley History Center, complete with a library, exhibition space and an archive area that houses an impressive collection of photographs, memorabilia and artifacts. Society memberships contribute to maintaining the quality of programs offered; learn more about the society, membership opportunities and the Berkeley History Center at www.berkeleyhistoricalsociety.org.

Whether you’re looking to try out a new hobby, sharpen your skills or just meet some new people, Northern California’s clubs offer all that and more.
