Know Your Volvo: Utilizing the radio functions

Controlling the radio, as well as your iPhone, iPad or media storage device

Volvo has made utilizing the radio a simple task, thanks to large buttons and knobs, and the steering wheel mounted controls. Whether you are using the radio dials on the dashboard or the steering wheel controls, your Volvo simplifies the process of utilizing media in the car.

To access the radio function menu, you can either push the radio button on the center control panel or push and hold down on the Exit button located on the steering wheel until the menu selection icon appears. Using the steering wheel’s rolling scroll, select the radio icon and push down on the scroll to access the car’s radio. You can then choose from up to five radio presets: AM, FM1, FM2, Satellite1 (SAT1) or Satellite2 (SAT2).

Your Volvo automatically finds the strongest AM/FM channels, allowing you to scroll through the stations available. You can also preset the radio stations on the center control panel by pushing the corresponding number and holding the button down until the radio sets the station. You can preset up to 10 stations on each preset.

If you do not want to listen to the radio, Volvo also offers a plug-in USB cord outlet that is iPod compatible. To connect your iPhone, iPad or media storage device, simply plug it into the USB socket in the center console. You can then navigate through your device using the same procedure as searching for radio stations.
