5 Ways You Can Recognize CFRE Certificants or
Promote Certification
 
1.      Annually hold a lunch just for CFRE certificants and invite all CFRE certificants in your area (not just those who are members of your association.)  Give CFRE certificants a chance to network with other CFRE professionals; invite a special speaker or have a special prize drawing.  (Idea courtesy of the Colorado Chapter of AFP)
 
2.      Introduce a “CFRE Track” at your conference or during Fundraising Days.  This track can be aimed at professionals seeking to become CFRE certificants and sessions can be chosen for topics that cover items found on the CFRE Test Content Outline.  Or, have a track for those already a CFRE certificant that tackles leadership issues and/or discusses greater issues around philanthropy rather than just fundraising tactics.  (Idea courtesy of the Greater Chicago Chapter of AFP)
 
3.      Invite CFRE certificants to a special dinner or reception that you hold for conference speakers and other visitors in recognition of the leadership they have shown in becoming CFRE certificants.  (Idea courtesy of the Fundraising Institute- Australia)
 
4.      Print all the names of CFRE certificants in your area in your National Philanthropy Day Awards brochure or read all the names off during the lunch.  You can download a complete list of area CFRE certificants from the CFRE website by clicking on “CFRE Search” in the upper right corner.
 
5.      Make a donation to the AFP Foundation’s Certification Advancement Fund in honour behalf of the new CFRE certificants in your local area.
