2007 was not only CFRE International’s 25^th anniversary year, but also the beginning of a new and far-reaching strategic plan – a fitting time perhaps to prepare our first annual report.
 
The benefit of our independence is that we can focus all our energies and efforts on the credibility, validity, desirability and sustainability of the CFRE credential.  The attached report is designed to give you a clear picture of how CFRE international is performing in its mission to provide a valid and reliable credential for the fundraising profession. 
 
None of these achievements would be possible if not for the extensive array of volunteer time given as advocates for the credential, in Board and committee service and as members of the Subject Matter Expert Corps who contribute questions for the CFRE exam.  So we felt this was also an important opportunity to acknowledge the 100+ people who give so generously to the profession in this way.
 
Most importantly we proudly list all of our current CFRE certificants and endorsing organisations.  Over 5,300 certificants around the world are now certified and our Board is working diligently to significantly boost this number and extend the reach of CFRE.  We are delighted that new candidate applications are already 20% higher in 2008, with the total number of approved continuing education activities is set to double over last year.
