World Standards Week is Observed 3 - 7 October 2005
CFRE joins organisations around the world in celebration of standard setting activities

CFRE International will join several organisations to celebrate World Standards Week, held 3 – 7 October 2005. This year's theme, "From A to Veeck: Standardisation and the Law” will be the focus of an exciting and varied mix of meetings, events and ceremonies held in Washington, D.C. and sponsored by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The goal of World Standards Week is to raise awareness of the importance of global standardisation to the world economy; to promote its role in helping meet the needs of business, industry, government and consumers worldwide; and to pay tribute to the thousands of volunteers around the world who participate in standardisation activities.

CFRE International is proud to be an ANSI member, contributing to the voluntary consensus effort to build global standards for the certification of individuals.  ANSI is the nonprofit organisation that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardisation and conformity assessment system using ISO standards.  CFRE International applauds the efforts of all the individuals involved in developing an international strategy that promotes standards for the certification of individuals.

CFRE International is also a member of the National Organisation for Competency Assurance (NOCA), a North American-based association for certification and standard setting organisations.  NOCA also promotes accreditation standards for the development, operation and governance of certification programmes, which CFRE International follows.

A special recognition goes to over eighty CFRE certificant volunteers serving on CFRE International’s committees, subcommittees, task forces and board of directors who work with CFRE International on setting standards in philanthropy.
