the St. Louis "YW" touches the lives of more than 20,000 people.
Among them:
¨ YWCA Head Start serves more than 2,500
children age 5 and younger from low- income families
¨
The St. Louis Regional Sexual Assault Center helps over 1000 victims learn to
reclaim their lives
¨ In the YWCA Phyllis Wheatley
Transitional Housing Program, homeless single women gain career skills
¨ The widely recognized YW-Teens program
teaches leadership to middle-school girls
¨ At the YWCA Carondelet Branch women,
families, seniors and developmentally disabled adults benefit from the
abundance of aquatics, fitness and recreation programs
¨ YWCA Community Education Programs
educate about and promote social and racism.
More than 3,000
volunteers, including an all female Board of Directors, complement a YWCA staff
of more than 420 from Missouri and Illinois, of which women comprise
approximately 88 per cent. Programs are offered at more than20
locations in St. Louis City and County.
Chief Development Officer - Outcomes
The YWCA of Metro St. Louis seeks a Chief
Development Officer who will report to the CEO. The CDO will be the catalyst to
build a diversified fundraising program to include a substantial individual
donor base, increased unrestricted revenues, expanded operating reserves and
endowment funds.
This Chief
Development Officer will be successful by meeting or exceeding the following
goals:

Escalate the percentage of annual operating
revenues from private contributions
·
Increase the annual percentage of unrestricted
revenue
·
Launch and grow annual giving programs
·
Establish a flourishing major gifts program
·
Increase the endowment via a healthy planned
giving initiative
·
Bring to life a Foundation to perform as a
funding arm of the YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis
Responsibilities Include
The CDO is responsible for achieving the strategic
fundraising goals of the Association. Toward this end:
·
Design a multi-year development plan, implement
annual strategies and work plans to include
annual giving,
major gifts, grant writing, special events, etc.
·
Lead and manage development department staff,
interns, volunteers in all planning , budgeting,
evaluating and
reporting associated with fundraising
·
Serve as a professional representative of the
YWCA in work with volunteers, board members
and community
constituents
·
Prospect, cultivate and sustain positive
relationships with local, regional and national foundations
and other
donors
·
Identify program funding needs at YWCA Branches
and program centers; track all Association
fundraising
efforts to maximize interaction with various target markets
·
Work synergistically with the Director of Public
Relations on applicable projects
·
Model the YWCA commitment to racial justice by
exhibiting cultural competency and effective
relationships
among our richly diverse constituents and stakeholders

Qualifications
· Advanced
degree preferred and at least 10 years of leadership in Development. CFPR preferred.
· Track
record of strategic vs. tactical success in meeting or exceeding fundraising
goals
· Mastery
of fundraising terminology, procedures, reporting and methodologies
· Strong
orientation and understanding of issues/policies impacting women and children
· Superb
writing skills
