Nanogel recently received a Technical Assessment certification from the French regulatory authority body, CSTB, a state-owned industrial and commercial cooperative administered by the French Ministry of Housing. To achieve certification, Nanogel polycarbonate sheets passed a series of stringent tests audited by CSTB technical experts. These performance tests included insulation, energy-efficiency, acoustics, translucency, moisture resistance, weathering, as well as Nanogel's manufacturing and filling processes.
The CSTB is an independent, objective professional group of technical experts, charged with assessing and monitoring the quality, operations, components or systems of products designed for the construction industry. It is one of Europe's leading research and evaluation centers. Submission of products for certification is voluntary and the review process takes into account the regulatory requirements, as well as performance and durability criteria critical to users in the European Union.
Products that earn certification provide architects, builders, and other stakeholders in the construction chain with critical information needed to make informed choices and assume full responsibility for product performance.
Every year, the CSTB issues nearly 600 Technical Assessments (or Avis Techniques) and monitors some 1,500 holders of certifications (40 percent of which are from outside France). Involved in the development of the European Union for many years, the CSTB is authorized to issue European Technical Approvals and CE labeling. For additional information visit the CSTB website.
