Since 2007, the Buick Enclave has served as the mid-size crossover SUV in Buick’s lineup. Recognized as a high-quality and affordable vehicle by U.S. News & World Report, the Enclave has been a pillar in the Buick family. But even the greatest can still become greater.
For 2018, Buick has launched the next generation of the Enclave, introducing a new look and improved powertrain to fit the needs of modern drivers.
Changes for 2018
The 2018 Enclave retains its three rows and adds even more space — almost 6 additional inches of legroom in the back seats. A narrower body width means tighter turning, and a sleeker form makes the crossover appear less egg-shaped.
New features abound in the latest Enclave. Highlights include the air ionizer that cleanses the air and helps eliminate odors, as well as the addition of 100 LED Evonik Acrylite lights in the headlamps. The eight-inch Buick Infotainment System with voice recognition technology is also a leap forward.
Buick Enclave powertrain
All versions of the 2018 Buick Enclave are outfitted with a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The motor manages 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to tow up to 5,000 pounds. It’s even available with all-wheel drive.
Even with that level of power, the EPA estimates that the Enclave can average 26 mpg on the highway (front-wheel drive) and 21 mpg overall.*
The new Avenir trim
Ushering in the debut of its new sub-brand, the 2018 Buick Enclave features the brand new Avenir trim, a top-of-the-line package that adds the hottest luxury amenities to the already-classy crossover.
This superb configuration adds 20-inch aluminum wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish, power dual moonroof and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood accents. Wireless charging and Buick Navigation System are two additional connectivity perks.
For a family-focused vehicle that balances power, efficiency and luxury, check out the all-new 2018 Buick Enclave.
