Cash for Clunkers
Here are some of the basic qualifiers

Cash for Clunkers

At the end of June President Obama signed the Cash for Clunkers  http://www.cars.gov/ bill in to effect. Congress has 30 day to get all the details worked out for the specifics. Behind the scenes a lot is going on. A lot of questions not only from consumers but also from the dealerships. Not all dealerships will be participating and each dealership must be signed up with the NHTSA. The NHTSA will post the list of dealers as soon as it is finalized. Bradshaw Automotive will be participating in the Cash for Clunkers program and is working with the NHTSA, SCADA and NADA to be sure every detail is worked out correctly. Be wary of any website that is not an official government website and any website that ask for any personal information. The consumer will not be required to fill out any voucher information to qualify for this program. The Official rules are being posted and updated at www.cashforclunkerscarolinas.com  or go www.bradshawgreer.com and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Here are some of the basic qualifiers

  • Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date
  • Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify
  • Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements)
  • Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in
  • You don't need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase
  • Program runs through Nov 1, 2009 or when the funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.
  • The program requires the disposal of your eligible trade-in vehicle and that the dealer disclose to you an estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in. The scrap value, however minimal, will be in addition to the rebate, and not in place of the rebate.

No Equal for the Equinox
A first look at the surprising 2010 Chevrolet Equinox.

It speaks softly, but carries some big features. That’s the philosophy of Chevy’s newest Equinox, the compact crossover that’s very quietly outshining comparably equipped Hondas and Toyotas. It may not be making much noise, but it’s certain to make big waves.

The Malibu Stands
Style meets substance in the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.

In many ways, the Malibu was something of a breakthrough for Chevy. Its exceptional combination of style and substance catapulted it to the top of reviewers’ favorites and drivers’ wish lists. The 2009 Malibu lineup continues the trend, solidifying its place atop the segment as a serious contender and a seriously enjoyable sedan.
